A MEDIUM Charcuterie Board (cheese board) in Purpleheart with inlaid Mulberry growth rings. Sized 6" x 14", it is evolved from our very popular MINI boards. This specific board is sold, but we'll happily make another for you. Please go to our dropbox stock link to review all of our current stock: CURRENT STOCK Make a note of your selection (the stock number) and include it in a note to me. Watching customers at retail events and craft fairs helped me realize what an important and personal choice it is. (it may take a day to manually remove your board from the online inventory, do not become alarmed). We have enjoyed some brisk sales, and are always generating new stock, so please check frequently. As well, if you don't see a board that is in stock that you wish, note the characteristics of an already sold piece, or describe what you seek and send me a note to firstname.lastname@example.org .
The purple is dramatic, and will show off your charcuterie, snacks, sushi. Purpleheart is always popular, it is also light sensitive and gradually loses its purple, becoming darker and browner when exposed to natural light, FYI.
We developed these smaller boards for several reasons... They are a perfect price and size for a gift, and exceptionally well presented in the flocked vinyl clutch case that Jody designed...They are lovely for a small snack for two, imagine a nice blue cheese, blackberry jelly, and some of yesterday's leftover baguette, with a nice local beer (there wasn't any wine leftover from yesterday)...For me, it allows me to sketch ideas, as sometimes once I see something, I can't unsee it, and I just need to make it.
Thicknesses vary, typically between 5/8" to 1" (19mm-25mm).
The back of each board is signed, as I perceive these as art, and hope they are enjoyed sometimes on a wall, and sometimes under sushi.
The back of the board is drilled and t-slotted so that it can be hung on the wall, as art, in either landscape or portrait format. The board is finished with multiple coats of tung oil. Regular oiling is required as maintenance, especially after use (it also makes cleanup easier if the board is well oiled immediately before service). After use we suggest cleaning (of course) with a wipe of soap and water, never submerging in water, and then oiling. Olive oil is fine, and everyone has it; simply wipe on generously, wait ten minutes and wipe off the excess. You may also use oils made specifically for boards, such as lemon oil, walnut oil, etc.. Each board comes with care instructions, and the flocked vinyl clutch case.
